Square

A square is a quadrilateral with four equal sides and four right angles.

Formulas:

  • Area = side²
  • Perimeter = 4 × side

Rectangle

A rectangle is a quadrilateral with opposite sides equal and all angles 90°.

Formulas:

  • Area = length × width
  • Perimeter = 2 × (length + width)


Triangle

A triangle is a three‑sided polygon. Using Heron’s formula, you can compute the area for a triangle when all three side lengths are known.

Formulas:

  • Perimeter = a + b + c
  • Semi‑perimeter, s = (a + b + c) / 2
  • Area = √(s × (s − a) × (s − b) × (s − c))




Circle

A circle is defined by its radius.

Formulas:

  • Area = π × r²
  • Circumference = 2 × π × r

Trapezoid

A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with at least one pair of parallel sides. For drawing purposes we assume an isosceles trapezoid.

Formulas:

  • Area = ((base1 + base2) × height) / 2
  • Perimeter = base1 + base2 + side1 + side2








Rhombus

A rhombus is a quadrilateral with four equal sides. Its area is calculated by half the product of its diagonals.

Formulas:

  • Area = (diagonal1 × diagonal2) / 2
  • Side = √((diagonal1/2)² + (diagonal2/2)²)
  • Perimeter = 4 × side


Parallelogram

A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with opposite sides parallel.

Formulas:

  • Area = base × height
  • Perimeter = 2 × (base + side)




Regular Polygon

A regular polygon has all sides and internal angles equal.

Formulas:

  • Perimeter = n × s
  • Area = (n × s²) / (4 × tan(π/n))
